CALIFORNIA- Over the weekend an estimated 40,0000 thousand on Saturday alone according to the Associated Press, have flocked to beaches in Southern California like Huntington Beach amidst a heat wave with summer like temperatures. Local news stations captured the view from the air.

The beaches are in Orange County which recently modified restrictions on beaches while restricting the availability of parking in an attempt to limit beach goers visiting from outside the area. Beach goers are also supposed to “stay moving” and not lounge or sunbathe, etc.

According to an interview by NBC, Newport Beach Battalion Fire Chief, “We haven’t had too many issues with as lifeguards. Our primary mission is watching the water. We’ve had dozens of ocean rescues and hundreds of preventative actions.”

Satellite GPS images taken Sunday at 3pm show a lot of traffic activity again at Huntington Beach despite parking lots being closed.

Thursday April 23rd, Governor Newsom addressed the easing of restrictions and urged caution as well as maintaining social distancing at beaches:
