STOCKTON- Dameron Hospital has opened a brand-new cardiac catheterization lab, a fully renovated room outfitted with the latest technology, reaffirming the hospital’s commitment to delivering advanced heart care close to home.

The new lab, which opened at the end of April 2026, represents a significant upgrade over the hospital’s previous equipment. For patients, that translates into real, tangible benefits: clearer and sharper imaging that allows physicians to diagnose and treat blockages with greater precision, lower radiation exposure during procedures, and the reliability of a newly built room that keeps care running without delay. The enhanced technology also expands the team’s ability to handle more complex cardiac cases — meaning more patients can be cared for right here in the community rather than traveling elsewhere.

Dameron’s new leadership team fast-tracked the construction and equipped the room based directly on the recommendations of the physicians who use it every day. Dameron’s cardiothoracic program is supported by two dedicated surgeons who together provide consistent coverage for the hospital and its patients. One of those surgeons, Dr. Marey, is a cardiothoracic specialist trained in advanced cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgery. He is double board certified in both general surgery and cardiothoracic surgery.  Known for his deep commitment to both the hospital and the community it serves, Dr. Marey approaches every case with a simple philosophy: treat each patient like family.
