QUESTIONS ABOUT RESUMÉ OF TRAVIS CASTLE SURROUND HIS CAMPAIGN

Travis Castle is currently running for San Joaquin County Supervisor against incumbent Steve Ding. His campaign ads, website, and resumé revolve around his claim he’s a firefighter. Castle’s LinkedIn currently claims:

“Firefighter/Paramedic • Full-time”
“September 2001 – Present”

That appears to suggest nearly 25 years of continuous full-time firefighter employment.

But in response to 209 Times, Castle stated:

“I have not stated that I have worked as a full-time firefighter for 25 years.”

So which is it?

209 Times has asked Castle to identify:

  • every full-time paid fire agency he worked for;
  • the dates of employment;
  • whether portions were volunteer, reserve, per diem, or unpaid;
  • and whether he intends to clarify his LinkedIn profile.

Questions are also being raised about Castle’s repeated campaign branding as a “rancher.” His opponent is claiming he’s “a fake.”

Public records associated with the Acampo property tied to Castle appear to only be 3 acres.

209 Times has asked:

  • is the property being referred to as a “cattle ranch”;
  • whether Castle operates any commercial ranching operation;
  • and whether voters are being given an inflated impression of his agricultural background.

209 Times has not reached final conclusions and has requested documentation and clarification directly from Castle. He initially responded to us and revealed his association with controversial political consultants Scott Winn (who is the Chief Operations Officer for the CA Republican Party) and racist Jacob Tyler ( who has been a delegate for the Democratic Party). Castle is being pushed heavily by democrats including nearly $200,000 in donations from SEIU.

Why do they want him in that position so bad? Could it be that contract negotiations are on the horizon?

Meanwhile firefighters we spoke to also question Castle’s claims . We have not been able to find any public records of a fire dept paying Castle as a firefighter. We could only find an unnamed agency paying him $1,300 in 2023 for “other pay” not a salary.

Meanwhile the firefighter associations have endorsed Steve Ding.
