Ron Freitas Announces Campaign for San Joaquin County District Attorney

Stockton- The following announcement has been made by former Prosecutor and Lodi Unified Trustee Ron Freitas:

“Ron Freitas, a career Prosecutor with the San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office, today announced his campaign to bring common sense and values that reflect our community back to the District Attorney’s Office. A graduate of California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where he was a member of the Law Review.  He has served the citizens of San Joaquin County as a Deputy District Attorney, Supervising Deputy District Attorney of the Gang Violence Suppression Unit, Chief Deputy District Attorney of the Homicide and Gang Divisions, and Assistant District Attorney.  He presently serves as President of the the Lodi Unified School Board after being re-elected last year with an overwhelming 75% of the vote.
 
Ron Freitas is off to a strong start to the campaign, having secured the endorsements of:
• San Joaquin County Deputy Sheriffs Association
• Stockton Police Officers Association
• Lodi Police Officers Association
• San Joaquin County Correction Officers Association
• Stockton Firefighters Local 456
 
“It’s time we have a District Attorney who reflects the values of our communities and brings common sense back to our District Attorney’s Office”, said Freitas. “I’m honored to have such strong support right out of the gate. Our public safety officers and first responders know they can count on me to keep our communities safe, take guns off the street and out of the hands of criminals, and create a culture of early intervention and rehabilitation with accountability, not the ‘get out of jail free’ cards the current incumbent likes to hand out akin her San Francisco and Los Angeles counterparts”.
 
Ron Freitas currently serves on the Board of Directors for the California District Attorneys Association and was the California District Attorneys Association Instructor of the Year for 2017, and the San Joaquin County Probation Officers Court Employee of the Year for 2018”.
