Suspicious Circumstances Prompt Evacuations at 10th Street Place and Stanislaus County Courthouse

Per Modesto PD:

“At approximately 8:30 a.m. this morning, authorities received a report of suspicious circumstances involving 10th Street Place and the Stanislaus County Courthouse.

Out of an abundance of caution, both buildings were evacuated to ensure the safety of employees and the public while authorities conducted an investigation.

Both buildings have now been thoroughly checked and deemed safe. Access to 10th Street Place and the Stanislaus County Courthouse has been restored, and normal operations may resume.

The Modesto Police Department, Modesto Fire Department, and Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office worked together to thoroughly investigate the circumstances and ensure the safety of those in and around both locations.
