Racist Comic Called Out at Che’roots Cigar Lounge

Local Comedian Crashes Out 🎭

MODESTO- A comedy promoter named Anthony Krayenhagen, got out of character during a show, nearly leading to an altercation after Motecuzoma Sanchez (209 Times CEO) checked him for disrespecting women in the audience and demanding money from them at Che’roots Cigar Lounge in downtown Modesto.

The promoter began taking his frustrations out on the audience, referring to some of the few women in attendance with slurs on the microphone. The comments were not masked as jokes, but appeared to be personal in nature, making others uncomfortable for the women.

As the “show” concluded, Anthony approached Sanchez’s group, which was there on business and included other members of the 209 Times crew (some of whom are based in Modesto) with a tin cup and demanded they “donate cash.”

According to another patron who wishes to remain unnamed, things turned worse when Sanchez declined his demand. “All of a sudden you just hear a guy in a suit say, ‘you’ve been disrespectful all night, and now come to me begging for money. Get the f*** outta here you Tiny Tim looking…”

Anthony responded by becoming aggressive and threatening Sanchez who then berated the comedian with punchlines more viscous than from any of the actual comedians.

“Not only was this bum begging me for money after being disrespectful, but it seemed like he’s jealous our friends left the area he was at to sit with us. It seemed like he brought his personal problems to work. But I guess if I’d been telling the same tired jokes for 10 years and still couldn’t get 5 people to show up I’d be mad too.”, exclaimed Sanchez.

Anthony, who appeared to be inebriated, then launched into a racist tirade as he retreated back to the bar to drink even more. He also refused the female bartender’s demands to leave.

We reached out to the owner of Che’roots for comment and even she agreed that Anthony was racist, “he doesn’t even like me.” She apologized for the bad experience.

Others stated they didn’t feel comfortable with someone being so blatantly racist and disrespectful to women operating out of the cigar lounge and would no longer return and patronize other businesses instead.
