MODESTO: Police are investigating a triple shooting and homicide that killed one person while injuring two others. In a statement released to the public MPD says:
“Shortly after 10 PM, a vehicle drove by Mellis Park and fired gunshots towards a group of people who were sitting at a picnic table in the park. Three adults were struck by the gunfire, two males and one female. All three victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment. One victim succumbed to their injuries.
This investigation is in the early stages and the motive for this shooting is unclear. The victim’s names are not being released until proper notifications have been made. We will provide updates when they are available.
