Stockton Man Puts Ripon Elementary On Lockdown

RIPON- A Stockton man was arrested today after running onto Ripon Elementary. Dramatic video was captured showing the moment he jumped off the school’s roof while school staff were looking for him. The sound of lockdown sirens can be heard going off.

Ripon PD released the following statement:

“Theft Suspect Arrested

On Tuesday, at 11:02 AM, Ripon Officers responded to Schemper’s Ace Hardware regarding the theft of a generator. Upon arrival of the officers, the suspect fled on foot towards the area of Ripon Christian Elementary School.

Officers checked the RC campus and surrounding area, at which time the suspect was seen by Ripon High School staff on their campus. Officers placed both Ripon High and Elementary campuses on lockdown. As officers attempted to make contact with the suspect, a foot pursuit ensued onto the Ripon Elementary campus.

Upon contacting the suspect at the Ripon Elementary playground, he threatened to harm himself with a sharp wooden object. A less lethal device was deployed and the suspect was taken into custody. The Ripon Fire Department responded for a medical evaluation.

The suspect was identified as Jordan Anderson (23 years of Stockton). He will be booked into San Joaquin County jail pending a medical clearance”.
