Car Jacking Suspect Arrested With Bomb đź’Ł

Per San Joaquin Sheriff:
“Early this morning, November 27, 2024, at approximately 12:19 a.m., San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Deputies located a vehicle involved in a recent carjacking near Church Street and Aurora Street in Stockton. The vehicle was reported stolen on November 25, 2024, originally a Stockton Police Department case.
Deputies conducted a high-risk stop, and all occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody without incident. During a search of the vehicle, deputies discovered a suspected homemade explosive device.
The search was immediately halted, and the Sheriff’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was contacted to respond. The EOD unit safely removed the device, conducted a thorough search of the vehicle, and confirmed that no additional explosive devices were present.
The Stockton Police Department was on scene to assist and gathered information from the driver to supplement their investigation.
The driver of the vehicle was arrested and booked on multiple charges, including possession of a stolen vehicle, receiving stolen property, and possession of an explosive device. Two passengers were later released.
