Per Sonoma County Sheriff:

“Petaluma Man Arrested for Possession of Bombs and Drugs

On Tuesday, July 29, 2025, deputies were dispatched to an arson investigation on Pine Flat Road. Deputies detained 43-year-old Gregory Klemme, and after an investigation, he was arrested by Cal Fire investigators for Arson on Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land. The evidence collected at the scene and from his vehicle was determined to be homemade explosives.

Today, Detectives from the Property Crime Unit, in collaboration with the Sonoma County Bomb Squad, executed a search warrant at Klemme’s home in the 1200 block of Kresky Way, Petaluma. The Bomb Squad (EOD) consists of highly trained deputies who respond and render explosive devices safe. Cal Fire Investigators and a BLM Investigator were also present to assist with the investigation. Inside the house, several pounds of explosive precursor materials were found. Bomb technicians also found three more completed explosive devices. In addition, controlled substances and drug paraphernalia were also found in Klemme’s bedroom.

Klemme was arrested again and booked in the Sonoma County Jail with a $1,000,000 bail enhancement. His charges were for possession of destructive devices, possession of materials for making destructive devices, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. These charges reflect the serious nature of Klemme’s actions and the potential danger he posed to the community.“
