STOCKTON- Zachary Ignacio Avelar, 22 years old, has been appointed to the Stockton Unified Board of Education to fill the vacant Trustee Area #7 seat representing North Stockton in the Quail Lakes/Delta College neighborhoods.
Zachary will become the youngest SUSD Trustee bringing an infusion of youth to the school board mixed with the current seasoned and experienced members. In addition to working a full time job in management, he is a community volunteer leader and has served local food ministries, the Salvation Army, and homeless programs. “I am extremely proud and humbled to serve my community.
