Stockton Man Arrested For Killing Girlfriend At Her Birthday Party In East Palo Alto

STOCKTON- The East Palo Alto police department has announced that it has arrested Joey Harris, 55 years old, of Stockton for a homicide that occurred in East Palo Alto on Monday September 7th. In a press release EPAPD gives the details of the crime and asks for additional help from the public:

Homicide Investigation

On Monday, September 7, 2020 at approximately 11:11 PM, Offices were dispatched to a Shotspotter activation at 1720 W. Bayshore Road in East Palo Alto. Officers respond and located the victim, Cynthia Mose (56-year-old Stockton resident) suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Officers attempted life saving measures while fire and paramedics responded to the scene, but Mose succumbed to her injuries. Witnesses on scene quickly identified the suspect as Joey Harris, the victim’s ex-boyfriend.

Joey Harris (55-year-old Stockton resident) had been in a dating relationship with Mose and lived together for 2 years.

Mose and Harris had travelled to East Palo Alto together to attend Mose’s birthday party and memorial for her brother who died a year earlier. While outside the party, Harris shot Mose with a firearm before fleeing in a vehicle.

On September 8, 2020 Harris turned himself in to the Stockton Police Department. East Palo Alto Police Officers responded to Stockton Police Department and took custody of him. Harris was later booked into the San Mateo County Jail for murder.

Investigación de homicidio

Harris is also apparently a charter bus driver with trips to local casinos included in his routes.
