Per San Joaquin Sheriff:
“Last night, October 1, 2022, just before 7pm, one of our Patrol Sergeants reported over the radio that the windshield of her fully-marked patrol unit had been struck by suspected gunfire in the 400-block of S. Oro Avenue in east Stockton.
The area was secured, and a suspect residence was identified. The suspect, 60-year-old Charles Pinkston, surrendered peacefully to our SWAT team at around 9:30pm. The weapon used was determined to be a high-powered pellet rifle. It was also determined that this may not have been an isolated incident, and Pinkston may have shot at other vehicles in a similar manner in the past.
If you or your property has been damaged on South Oro Avenue between Washington and Horner, please reach out to our office at (209) 468-4400 (Option 1) and refer to case number 22-21007.
Pinkston was booked on multiple felony charges and is currently being held at the San Joaquin County Jail on a bond of $550,000. The Sergeant was uninjured.”
