Per Tracy PD:
“On 12/21/21 about 8:17pm, Tracy P.D. officers were dispatched to the West Valley Mall located at 3200 Naglee Road regarding a smash and grab robbery to a jewelry store inside the mall. The suspects used hammers to break display case glass and stole jewelry. Initial reports of gun shots being fired were determined to be the sound of the glass being smashed.
We have limited suspect information at this time. Officers are in the process of locating and reviewing any video surveillance footage in the area and at the mall. The suspects were described as 3 to 4 black male adults with sledge hammers. The Tracy Police Department is actively investigating this crime.
