CALIFORNIA- The following counties have been ordered to “shelter in place” for the next three weeks beginning Tuesday at 12:01am. The drastic move comes as the nation battles the spread of COVID-19, declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization last week. The governor has already suggested bars, wineries, and pubs close down as well as restaurants cut capacity. Restaurants in the Central Valley have already started shifting to drive through only as a result.

As the Dow Jones dropped 3,000 points today, the second worst in its 124 year history, it is unsure how such a shut down will impact the local economy including commuters from the Central Valley who rely on the Bay Area for their livelihoods.

All businesses are to be shut down in the following counties except those deemed essential such as banks, gas stations, food sources, etc. :

  • San Francisco
  • Santa Clara
  • San Mateo
  • Marin
  • Contra Costa
  • Alameda

  1. I think they are blowing this way out of proportion these people that are buying everything up from the stores and not leaving anything for others are the most wack-a-doos. I go where ever I want and when ever I want.
