CALIFORNIA- Governor Newsom today said he is calling for all bars, wineries, pubs, and nightclubs to close and for senior citizens and people with poor health conditions to isolate themselves at home as a means to contain the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus. There are over 5.3 million seniors in California.

He also called for restaurants to cut their capacity in half to practice more “social distancing”. While not orders, these are guidelines Newsom has released with no plan for enforcement other than his hope California will comply. How this will affect the economy has yet to be seen.
