STOCKTON- The United States has quickly surged past both Italy and now China to report the most confirmed cases of COVID-19 coronavirus at 82,179. This is despite having a population a fraction of the size of China and time to prepare. Over 37,000 of those cases are in New York with 21,000 being in New York City alone.
In the Central Valley of California, San Joaquin County has reported 78 cases with 3 deaths as of today. The second closest is Stanislaus County with 13 cases.
A record breaking 3.3 million Americans have filed for unemployment since last week, one million in California alone. The California Department of Public Health reminds the public to take these precautions to help fight the spread of the virus.
