Marine Corps Locates Sunken AAV With Human Remains

CALIFORNIA- According to the Marine Corps Times, the AAV that sunk last Friday July 31st with 7 Marines and 1 sailor, Chris Gnem from Stockton, has been located in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of San Clemente Island where the training was taking place. “Human remains were found and been identified on board the vehicle using a underwater remotely-operated video system from the Dominator, a merchant vessel specializing in undersea search and rescue, according to Marine Corps press release“, reports the Marine Corps Times.

Gnem and the Marines were presumed deceased at the conclusion of a 40 hour search.
