Police Investigate 2nd Homicide In Stockton For Sunday

STOCKTON- Police are investigating the second homicide in the city in as many days. In a statement police report a man in his 40’s was stabbed to death on the 500 block of W Sonora St.

Earlier this morning another man was shot in a car on Lafayette St and dropped off at Dameron Hospital after 2am Sunday morning where he died.

  1. Weapon Arrest (0800) 2300 Block of Shropshire Drive, Bear Creek District
    The suspect brandished a firearm yesterday while at the listed location. The suspect returned today and was contacted by officers. The suspect had possession of a firearm and ammunition. ARRESTED: Jim Gonzales, 48, for weapon charges.
  2. Assault with a Deadly Weapon (1355) 1600 Block of Turnpike Road, Seaport District
    The female victim, 48, was in a parking lot of the listed area. The two suspects beat the victim with an object and dragged her through the parking lot. The victim was treated for her non-life-threatening injuries at an area hospital. SUSPECTS: Black female and Hispanic female adults.

  1. Assault with a Deadly Weapon (1427) Tenth Street and Anne Street, Park District
    The male victim, 25, attempted to break up a fight. As he tried to separate the involved parties, an unknown suspect stabbed him. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his non-life-threatening wound. The victim could not provide any suspect description.
  2. Assault with a Deadly Weapon (1556) 00 Block of South Pilgrim Street, Park District
    The male victim, 48, was in a physical altercation with the suspect when the suspect struck the victim with a metal object. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment and was listed in stable condition. The suspect fled but was located at his house and taken into custody without incident. The suspect was transported to an area hospital for treatment of his non-life-threatening injuries. ARRESTED: Marcos Lopez Morales, 45, for assault with a deadly weapon.
  3. Robbery (1603) 7500 Block of Pacific Avenue, Lakeview District
    The male victim, 20, was working as store security and stopped the suspect as he was attempting to steal property. The suspect struck the victim with a glass bottle and fled prior to the police arriving at the business. The suspect was located and taken into custody after a brief struggle. The suspect was medically cleared at a local hospital. ARRESTED: Joshua Pacheco, 39, for robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, and resisting arrest.
  4. Weapon Arrest (1900) Second Street and Airport Way, Park District
    Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation and found a loaded handgun inside the vehicle. ARRESTED: Jamal Gaines, 21, for weapon charges.
  5. Vehicle Pursuit (2115) El Dorado Street and Benjamin Holt Drive, Lakeview District
    Officers conducted a traffic stop at the listed location. One of the occupants fled on foot and the vehicle drove off, leading officers on a short pursuit. The vehicle crashed at El Dorado St / Jamestown St. A taser was deployed on the passenger that fled from the vehicle. The driver and passenger were taken into custody. ARRESTED: Navy Pao, 32, for felony driving under the influence, evading, resisting, and warrants and Sayla Tap, 34, for resisting arrest.
  6. Weapon Arrest (2215) 2200 Manthey Road, Seaport District
    Officers conducted a traffic stop. A search of the vehicle revealed a loaded handgun. ARRESTED: Boris Valentine, 35, for weapon charges and warrants.
  7. Assault with a Deadly Weapon (0220) 1200 Block of North El Dorado Street, Civic District
    The male victim, 23, was in his parked vehicle. The unknown suspect approached the victim and fired a shotgun at him. The victim was struck and transported himself to a local hospital. The victim’s injuries were not life threatening. SUSPECT: White male adult.

Watch Commander’s Day Report – April 26, 2020

  1. Homicide (0237) Glacier Court and East Lafayette Street, Park District
    The male victim, 22, was at the listed location and was shot by the suspect. The victim was pronounced deceased at an area hospital. The suspect is unknown.
  2. Battery on An Officer (0618) 3900 Block of North Pershing Avenue, Lakeview District
    Officers responded to the listed location on a report of a disturbance. Officers contacted the suspect in a parking lot. The suspect was under the influence, detained and resisted then attempted to knee an officer. A restraint device was used to secure the suspect. ARRESTED: Eric Simmons, 28, for domestic violence, resisting arrest, battery on an officer and an outstanding warrant.
  3. Person Shot (1000) 1600 Block of East Eighth Street, Park District
    The male victim, 44, was standing in the listed area on the sidewalk when the suspect drove by and shot the victim. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of his non-life-threatening injuries. SUSPECT: White or Hispanic male adult.
