Police Investigate Violent Night in Stockton

STOCKTON- Police are investigating multiple shootings, robberies, and assaults in a violent Saturday night that left four people shot.

Per SPD:

“Watch Commander’s Night Report – August 14, 2021

  1. Assault with a Deadly Weapon (1820) 1500 Block of Milton Street, Park District
    The victim, 36, stopped to help a female to fix her disabled vehicle. As he looked under the hood, the suspect came from behind and hit him with an object. The victim fled the area on foot to seek for help. The victim sustained non-life-threatening life injuries. SUSPECT: Hispanic male, adult.
  2. Robbery Arrest (2105) 1700 Block of East Regal Street, Civic District
    The victim, 37, was getting out of his vehicle when the suspect approached him. The suspect assaulted the victim and took his property before fleeing the area. Responding officers located the suspect and took him into custody without incident. ARRESTED: Jason Mitchell, 35, for robbery.
  3. Person Shot (2241) 2000 Block of Pajaro Way, Seaport District
    Officers responded to the location on a report of two people who were shot. When they arrived, they located the male victim, 42, and the female victim, 56, suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. The victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment. SUSPECT: Hispanic male, adult.
  4. Battery on an Officer (0140) Pinchot Street and School Street, Park District
    Officers happened upon a vehicle collision, where the suspect collided with multiple parked vehicles. The suspect fled from officers on foot but was captured after a Taser deployment. The suspect continued to resist arrest and kicked an officer. He was eventually taken into custody. ARRESTED: Rogelio Hernandez, 23, for hit and run, DUI, resisting arrest, and battery on an officer.
  5. Person Shot (0315) 1100 Block of Delivery Street, Civic District
    The male victim, 43, was going to an area business when he was confronted by the suspect. The suspect told the victim to leave the area and then shot him. The suspect fled in a white truck. The victim was given a ride by private party to a parked ambulance, who transported him to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. SUSPECT: White male, adult.
  6. Person Shot (0425) 200 Block of East Church Street, Seaport District
    The male victim, 57, became involved in an argument with the suspect. The victim began to call the police and suspect the shot him. The suspect fled on foot. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening injury. SUSPECT: Black male, adult.”
