Governor Newsom has announced that regions of the state will be subject to a new stay-at-home order if their hospital ICU capacity falls below 15%.

In regions where that happens citizens will be told to remain in their homes unless they are conducting approved “essential activities” and lockdowns would last for 3 weeks.

Newsom announced in a press conference he is dividing the state into five regional geographic zones he says projections show will eventually face the stay-at-order.

These are the current tier level rankings and statistics for the counties in the 209.

Yesterday California recorded 18,041 new cases in one day. Since the outbreak of the pandemic earlier this year the state has had a cumulative 1,264,539 cases with 19,437 deaths. Yesterday the United States recorded 3,157 deaths attributed to COVID-19.
