BROOKLYN, New York — After a three month trial in federal court, Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán was found guilty. A jury of eight men and four women delivered a unanimous guilty verdict on all 10 counts including murder, smuggling, and money laundering. The extent of his illicit business extended to the Central Valley. The 61 year old leader of the Sinaloa cartel now faces sentencing, which can include a mandatory sentence of life in federal prison with no chance for parole.
