Several Alleged Gang Members Arrested in Morning SWAT/ATF Raids in Stockton and Tracy

TRACY- Several arrests were made this morning in Stockton and Tracy. The following is a press release from Tracy Police Department describing the list of arrestees and their charges:

Gang Members Arrested for Firearms and Narcotics Offenses

In late 2018, the Tracy Police Department began an investigation involving the sale of narcotics and firearms. With support from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), The Tracy Police Department recovered 31 firearms and as well as narcotics for sale from several individuals who are known / suspected gang members or associates in Tracy and Stockton. Several of the recovered firearms had been reported stolen to other area law enforcement agencies. Others were non-serialized.

This morning members of the ATF, Tracy Police Department, Manteca Police Department, Pleasanton Police Department, Ceres Police Department, and the CHP lead San Joaquin County Auto Theft Task Force (Delta RATT) served search and arrests warrants at three locations in Tracy and two in Stockton. The service of the search warrants was also assisted by a CHP air unit.

Arrested were (the listed charges are not all inclusive):

Ruben J. Mesta., 34 of Tracy for: Felon in possession of a firearm, being a gang member in possession of a stolen firearm, and being in possession of an assault rifle, and gang enhancements.

Jesse J. Takayama, 26 or Tracy for: Possession of narcotics for sale, felon in possession of a firearm, possession and offering for sale a short barrel rifle, and gang enhancements.

Augustine Tafoya Jr., 58 of Stockton for: Felon in possession of a firearm, possession of an assault weapon, and gang enhancements.

Matthew L. Mantheny, 34 of Stockton for: Felon in possession of a firearm, possession and offering for sale a short barrel rifle, possession of an assault weapon, and gang enhancements.

The investigation is on-going and there are still suspects outstanding whom we are not identifying at this time.
