Stockton Police Seek Help In Finding Suspect Who Murdered 87 Yr Old Man

STOCKTON- The Stockton Police Department is seeking help from the public in identifying a suspect who killed an 87 year old man on March Lane in 2017. They’ve released the following statement and pictures of the victim and sketch of the suspect:

“On February 17, 2017, Officers responded to the 800 block of E. March Lane regarding a disturbance. During the investigation it was determined the suspect entered the room of an adult female victim and began taking her property. The adult male victim, Joe Elsey, 87 years of age, attempted to assist her and was assaulted by the suspect. The suspect fled and was not located. The male victim went into cardiac arrest and died. The female victim was treated at an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The Stockton Police Department is encouraging citizens to call if they have information pertaining to this investigation. Callers are asked to call the Stockton Police Department at (209) 937-8377, the Detective Dewing at (209) 937-8323, or Stockton Crime Stoppers Inc. at (209) 946-0600. Callers can remain anonymous.
