Teenager Found Shot to Death on Rural Tracy Road

TRACY- Police are confirming that a 17 year old minor was found shot multiple times last Friday on an isolated road not far from where a body was found in a ditch two days prior on January 10th. In the last two weeks there have been three bodies found in rural areas of Tracy. Two of those victims including the latest are suspected to be homicides. The body found in the ditch along Tracy Blvd is not suspected of foul play according to authorities.

Tracy PD has released the following statement:

“On Friday, January 12, 2024, around 6:30 pm the Tracy Police Department responded to a report of a vehicle collision on Sugar Rd. between Tracy Blvd and Holly Dr. Upon their arrival, patrol officers located a male inside a vehicle that had been shot several times. The shooting victim was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his wounds.

Detectives from the Tracy PD General Investigations Unit responded to the scene and took over the investigation. The victim was identified as David Cantero Valdez (17 years old of Tracy, CA). The investigation is ongoing and anyone with any information about this incident is encouraged to contact the Tracy Police Department.
